Federal Minister for Law Zahid Hamid on Wednesday said that India has declined to cooperate with Pakistan in finding Colonel (retd) Habib who went missing on April 6 in Nepal.

He said this while speaking during a session of the Senate. The law minister said that after investigation, it has been learnt that the website that Habib accessed in order to apply for a job has been closed down; the number from which he had a received a call was registered under a false name as well, he said.

A retired army officer, Habib has been untraceable from Lumbini since April 6, soon after his arrival there. He last contacted his family on the afternoon of the same day and since then his phone numbers have not been reachable.

Pakistan had contacted the Nepalese government over the issue and sought information from India. But the Indian government has declined to help, saying it cannot do anything regarding the issue as the retired officer went missing in Nepal.
