An employee of a Framingham grocery store was suspended for “trying to violate the privacy” of coworkers, the company said.
The incident involved a camera placed inside an employee bathroom, Stop & Shop spokesman Phil Tracey said.
“Nothing is more important to Stop & Shop than the safety and privacy of its associates,” said Tracey. “We were shocked to learn of the allegations that a store associate attempted to violate the privacy of other associates at our Temple Street Framingham store and immediately suspended the individual. We are working closely with the Framingham Police Department concerning its investigation and must refer all further questions to the Department.”
Framingham police confirmed Thursday evening that the incident at a Stop & Shop store is the subject of an open investigation, but could not release other details.
